Who writes the ReferenceCheck guides, how they are researched and cited, what they leave out and how to tell us when something is wrong.

Who writes these guides

The guides are written and kept up to date by Never Ending Solutions, the company that builds NES ReferenceCheck. They are written for the people who run reference checks: campus HR teams, search committee chairs, hiring managers and the employers who hire for care, clinical and front-line roles.

Every article is credited to Never Ending Solutions. We do not put a person’s name on an article they did not write.

How we research and cite

Outside facts link to a public source, and the source list at the end of each article shows the date we last checked it. We prefer primary sources: the regulation itself, the agency’s own guidance, the institution’s own policy and the published study.

Where practice differs between institutions, employers or states, the article says so rather than presenting one approach as the rule.

When an article touches law or regulation, it closes with a note that it is general information, not legal advice, and it cites at least two sources. Some subjects, such as off-list references, wait for review by counsel before we publish them at all.

What the guides leave out

  • Statistics we cannot source. If a number cannot be traced to a source a reader can check, it is not in the article.
  • Other companies’ names. The guides compare approaches, not vendors.
  • Promises. No article tells you a process will produce a particular hiring outcome or settle your legal obligations. Whether your process meets those obligations is a question for your counsel.
  • Prices. Current prices for ReferenceCheck are on the product pages, where they are kept up to date.

How our product appears

These guides are published by the company that sells ReferenceCheck, and each article says so. The product is described only as its own pages describe it, and the advice in every guide can be followed with or without our software.

Updates and corrections

Each article shows the date it was published and, when it has changed since, the date it was last updated. Each source carries the date it was last checked, so you can see how current it is.

Found an error or a source that has moved? Email info@neverendingsolutions.com and we will correct the article and update its date.
